Stunts should be left to stuntmen. But when the circumstances require a drastic act of desperation, it’s often fatal. Such was the scene when a kidnapped cab driver was killed in a bid trying to escape his abductor by jumping out of the moving vehicle, according to The Star Online. City CID chief Senior Asst Comm II Datuk Ku Chin Wah said the cabbie was spotted waving frantically by three motorcyclists at about 8pm yesterday along Jalan Kinabalu. The taxi is believed to be driven by the abductor. “The motorcyclists saw the victim desperately making hand gestures to call for help. However, about half a kilometre later, the cabbie decided to jump out of the moving vehicle,” he said. SAC Ku said the cabbie landed on his head and was pronounced dead by the time the ambulance arrived. “One of the motorcyclists stopped to help and also control traffic to prevent the victim from being run over by vehicles. Meanwhile, the other two motorcyclists continued pursuing the taxi,” he added. SAC Ku said based on eye-witness accounts, there was only one person in the taxi. “Based on initial investigations, we believe the victim was robbed before he was abducted,” he said. He said the location where the victim was abducted was not known yet, adding that the taxi was found parked along Jalan Raja Laut later. The victim has been identified as Khairuddin Mohammad, 31, from Cheras based on the identification sticker in the taxi. Read More From The Aggregated KL News Category
