One of the favorites for the tournament, Finnish player Jouni Tähti lost his second match 2 – 7 to Anthony Southern (GBR), taking him to the losers bracket..he now needs to win all three matches on Friday to gain a medal.
No surprise that the reigning champion, Hendrik Larsson (SWE) started with a banging performance winning both his first two matches 7-4 against Harald Fink (AUT) and Daniel Lee (GBR).
Robert Calderon (USA) will continue his matches on the losers side on Friday. He won his first losers round match 7-4 against Emil Malanowski. Mark Jones (USA) is out of the tournament because of two losses, first to Kurt Deklerck (BEL) 4-7 and then to Fred Dinsmore (IRL) 1-7.
