Congratulations to Sweden’s Henrik Larsson for winning the 2014 WPA Wheel Chair 9-ball World Championship. The event, which took place from November 21-23 at the Hansa Shopping Mall in Turku, Finland, was a resounding success and the winner a worthy champion.
Larsson won the title with a convincing 9-6 victory over Great Britain’s Matt Duffy. The final score was closer than the match appeared as Larsson had full control most of the way but gave away a few racks at the end before finally claiming the title.
Larsson reached the final with a 9-6 semis win against Ireland’s Fred Dinsmore. Duffy claimed his spot in the final with a 9-7 win over last year’s champion, Jouni Tathi of Finland.
The WPA would like to congratulate all the participants in this year’s Wheel Chair 9-ball World Championship. A special thanks goes out to the city government and people of Turku, as well as the SBIL. Everyone’s kind hospitality and excellent organization made the event a memorable one.
